About the USA Games
The USA Games showcase the abilities of athletes with intellectual disabilities and the impact of Special Olympics through world-class competition, inspirational experiences, and modeling inclusion for all.
The 2018 Special Olympics USA Games will be held in Seattle, Washington July 1-7, 2018. More than 4,000 athletes and coaches representing 50 state Programs and the District of Columbia, along with the support of tens of thousands of volunteers and spectators, will compete in 14 Olympic-type team and individual sports.
The Faces of Team Washington
Sixteen Athletes, competing in over forty-eight events will take Husky Stadium to run, jump, and throw their way to the Gold Medal.
Thirty-eight Delegates, Two Unified Teams, one Traditional, and our first National Level Women’s basketball team make up Team Washington’s slam dunk delegation.
After its third official season at Special Olympics Washington our eight Team Washington Delegates are hoping to bring back the first National title for Bocce.
Washington States most popular sport, represented by three of our fabulous Team Washington delegates will defend the gold at our very own Kenmore Lanes.
Representing both categories, Traditional and Unified, our two Flag Football Teams will lean on the Spirit of Seattle’s Football Super fans to take this Special Olympics National Title.
Our three State Champions will be hitting the fairway to compete with the best of the best in the second National showing.
A return of one of Team Washington’s long time treasured sports, Gymnastics will feature some of our newest athletes to the program who will vault their way victory.
It won’t be a lift at all for our powerlifting team to show their strength at USA Games. Strength, Power, and Endurance are Team Washington’s recipe for success.
Team Washington Largest team sport, with over forty athletes and five teams, including Unified and traditional, will achieve all their ‘Goals’ this summer.
Batter Up! Thirty-two Athletes, two teams, Traditional and Unified, are going to take the field and hit it out of the ballpark.
Ten of our Team Washington Delegates will make a splash at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center and the original home of the Goodwill Games.
Team Washington Tennis is going to Ace it at their first USA games showing, and second National Championship.
A new sport for team Washington will leave an exciting legacy in its wake. These five delegates will paddle their way to the Gold at Angle Lake.
